If you're like me, you often have multiple iChats going on simultaneously. Which can make for a really messy-looking screen. But iChat has a preference that's saved my confused eyes: gathering all the iChats into a single, clean window [see image to the right]. Not only is it tidy, the cartoon bubble makes it easy to see who's chatting you at the current moment.
It's easy to activate this space-saving preference:
- launch the iChat application
- go up to the top left of your screen, click on iChat, choose Preferences
- click the Messages icon at the top
- check the box called Collect Chats Into A Single Window
- close the iChat preferences
